Follow the Hummingbird Series
The Hummingbird Series is more than characters, scenes and plot. It is about stories that share places and people who share dreams and companionship. These are not sagas that sweep across decades with legions of peoples; these are neighborhoods with friends and lovers who challenge life and gallop with passion.
The series takes its name from the mythology and symbolism enjoyed by some of the most famous cultures of the Americas. The Inca empire revered their agility and endurance. The Aztecs believed they were symbols of resurrection and rebirth.
And in southern Peru, there is a collection of ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert floor. These are massive figures; in this case, the hummingbird (right) measures about 96 meters (314 feet) long and 66 meters (216 feet) wide. Created by the Nazca culture, they believed the hummingbird to possess both resilience and beauty.

Welcome to
The Hummingbird Series
The stories in The Hummingbird Series take place in and around Massachusetts -- from the streets of Boston to the Boston Harbor; from the Metrowest suburbs to the beauty of the ocean on the North Shore. And along the way, follow some of our characters out to the Berkshires where past lives collide, and recuperation and hospitality are served in equal doses in an old country inn.
In Kenzie's debut novella, Field of Play, Jay Carbo's professional soccer career is upended when he is transferred to Boston. He doesn't know anyone until Natalie runs into him at a Newbury Street coffee shop. Through their travels they make befriend a bartender in the Berkshires, overcome a career ending injury and take on the challenge of a new career.
